It took all day Saturday to finish, but wow, it sounds amazing. The car runs surprisingly well for a stock tune and stays running all on her own. The cam is a Torquer V2 232/234 .595"/.598" 112 LSA and of course springs and hardened pushrods.

I would like to thank Sean at Top Gear Motorsports in Mesa, Az for his help...well, I helped him...

Word is Sean is the man to see for autos.

Top Gear Motorsports did work on my auto (custom shift kit with .490 boost valve) and tranny cooler install.

If you have an A4 Top Gear Motorsports in Mesa does excellent work. Sean definitely goes the extra mile.

My car experience began with another shop around town that has closed recently. I had brought my car to that shop multiple times for the same problem replacing parts that were not needed, and thus not fixing my problem.

After spending much not need money at that shop and getting feed up with the work being done to my car I brought my car into Sean at Top Gear Motorsports. Sean took a look at my car and found out the problem right away. Previous work done to the car during a clutch replacement had allowed oil to get onto the clutch and cause the clutch to wear out very premature. Sean was able to fix the problem and replace my clutch.

Almost 3 years later I have still had no problems with my clutch, this was the beginning of my wonderful experience with Sean and his shop. Since my initial experience I have brought my car back to Sean multiple times for various things.

My last modification that was done to the car was a custom build 9" rear differential. Sean tackled the beast and helped out with the little problems that arose from the installation. He was very helpful every step of the way and I will never have to worry about breaking my rear end now.

Every single thing I have brought my car in for, modification and simple oil changes have been nothing short of a wonderful experience. I have and will continue to recommend Sean and Top Gear Motorsports to people I know for a great shop and a great mechanic.

Top Gear is where I bring my car to for everything and anything. - LS1tech July 2008

I own a 1995 Chevrolet Impala SS that needed some tender loving care.  I've had a trying time finding a reputable shop with staff familiar with my car since I moved from Seattle.  I was experiencing some transmission issues that was done from another shop locally along with other "bugs" that needed to be exterminated.

Sean took my car in with open arms and did what I call a full body massage on my baby.  I cannot say enough about TGMS's customer service and communication.  Sean took pictures of the damaged and worn parts from the transmission, e-mailed them to me and explained to me in full detail what they were, how they worked, what caused the damage/wear and suggested options of how to correct the issue.  He also showed and explained to me that the Trans-Go shift kit along with the "built" transmission that I purchased from a local shop prior was not what I really purchased, but merely nuts and washers and stock OEM parts in the transmission.

The communication along with questions asking me what my goals were with the car so they can properly build the transmission to comply with the power/torque was well thought out by TGMS.  Not having to pay for something that's too much or too little and actually get what I paid for saved me time, money and grief.

Feeling confident with a business that you trust to do elaborate or minor preventive maintenance on your car whether it's a show car, race car or just plain old daily driver is golden.  TGMS has won my trust and will to continue to send my car(s) to them.

Thank You Top Gear Motorsports!

Scott Goldsmith's Juggernaut 402

Modifications:

  • Remove Street Twin, get rebuilt and reinstall.
  • Replace the front lower control arm bushings on both LCA's, along with the ball joints, this was VERY hard as some of the bolts were impossible to get, so he had to lower the motor down to get them out.
  • Remove tranny (of course) and I had Wayne look through it and I had to replace the input shaft seal and 5/6 syncro, for some reason they were bad.
  • Install my new Pro 5.0 shifter.
  • Replace the O2's with new Delphi ones

Well, the beast is finally back on the road, Sean did a wonderful job, not too shabby for a first time Street Twin victim. All that took a long time, the clutch took 4 weeks to get back from McLeod, so he had to deal with my pile down there for a month and a half, he put a ton of time into this, double checking everything, making sure the car stayed safe inside, clean as it could be, and it came out great.

I would never have done this, hence me taking it in, I was fed up with it. Now there is NO chatter in the clutch, perfect engagement, McLeod actually replace the Master Cylinder I sent back with a new one, they said mine was an old version and they swapped it out for a new version one, FREE of charge too!! I wanted them to fix the leak, they just gave me a new one, they are a top notch company!

He even called me to check and see if I got it ok as I had to pick it up after he left and everything is working ok, top notch customer service, I'm grateful to have him as a friend, thanks for all the hard work Sean, this was a hard job, now he's an expert on 6 speeds and these Street Twins.

I have known Sean (the owner) of Top Gear for about 7 years, VERY nice guy and knows his stuff, he does very good work and clean at that! I would recommend him to anyone I know. - LS1tech October 2006

Top Gear Motorsports recently performed the installation of a 3000 stall converter, shift kit, transmission cooler, and rear gear upgrade in my 1999 Camaro Z28.

I decided it was time to enhance my car’s performance and called upon Sean at Top Gear Motorsports, knowing that the car would soon have a performance camshaft upgrade and a full exhaust it was important to get the drivetrain in order.

I really didn’t know what type or style of converter, or shift kit I wanted. Sean helped me choose the perfect combination for the future modifications that I had planned. Top Gear Motorsports never assumed that I had thought of everything before beginning a performance build, instead, Sean facilitated answers and suggestions that made for an overall better experience.

It really doesn’t surprise me that much that when I got the car back on time and in the same condition I left it in. You can tell by the spotless floor that Top Gear Motorsports ensures their customer vehicles are treated with care. I know I can count on Top Gear Motorsports to deliver the same great customer experience every time.

Top Gear Motorsports took on the task of bringing my car to life! Hard work and sleepless nights brought it all together and I couldn't be happier. Not only did Top Gear Motorsports perform the installation, but they helped me choose the components and parts that would satisfy his needs. Better watch out... or all you will see is the rear of this fly bird!

I'm glad all my work goes to the most honest shop in AZ - Top Gear Motorsports. I have never seen better work. This guy is will never sell you anything you don't need. He is always honest and straight up. He never plays games. What more can you ask for out of a shop. - LS1tech October 2007
